This is very frustrating and I am working through the steps on but most shouldn't apply as this is fresh install of XP with all updates. At this point I'm using Foxit Pro so I can quickly print and read PDF files, but I need Adobe Acrobat to work with some document automation software (HotDocs Pro) I use. I've had no issues installing any other program and have had no other issues with this fresh installation of Windows XP. I'm trying to install the trial version of Adobe Acrobat 8 on a new installation of Windows XP. Paulceaston wrote:I am having a similar issue. Also this automatic upgrading is really annoying. I thank you for your help, which I really appreciate, but I cannot spend more hours on this problem. I will turn to a product form another company or shareware software, with the same functionality. But I have the bill of the product and everything. Also the help I got from the german service hotline was totally disappointing, telling me that they could not give me an answer because they had the wrong email address from registration. I also fear that upgrading other adobe products will drive me into similar situations. This is the only software I had problems with during the move to a new computer system. I am working with Adobe professionally and I cannot spend hours and hours of solving installation problems. I must say I#am totally disappointed because of this problem.
